Optometry is concerned with the health and vision of the eyes and related structures.  Optometrists are able to diagnose and treat several eye diseases and are also trained in the art and science of prescribing glasses to improve vision.  The profession is regulated by its particular provincial jurisdiction and individuals must abide by those laws and regulations while practicing optometry.
